Madre is a community of some 10,578 residents spread out over 3.2
square miles. Known as the “Village of the Foothills,” this quaint
community features small-town charm, lots of community spirit,
excellent schools and plenty of recreational opportunities. Sierra
Madre features a central business district and close access to the
services offered by the Valley below. Residents are only 16 miles from
downtown Los Angeles. Southern California’s world-famous beaches and
mountain resorts are less than an hour away. There are numerous parks
in the city featuring children's playgrounds, picnic tables, tennis
courts, band shell, covered picnic area and Senior Citizen's Center.
The parks are the site of numerous community events held during the
year including the annual Pioneer Days festival, summer concerts and
movies, the Firefighter's Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Festivities, the
Library Art Fair, the annual Halloween costume contest, and more. The
real estate market is made up of single-family homes & townhomes.
